Spotify’s mission is to unlock the potential of human creativity — by giving a million creative artists the opportunity to live off their art and billions of fans the opportunity to enjoy and be inspired by it.

By making different monetization options available early on in a podcast creator’s journey, we aimed to create a pathway that enabled podcasters to earn a living from their show as they scaled their listenership.

Creators view monetization growth as a strong validation that their podcast is legitimate and successful, but at the time Spotify for Podcasters provided a very limited view of such data. I worked on creating an analytics solution for mobile and desktop that gave creators actionable insights in order to iterate and monitor the health of their content.

Spotify revolutionized the way people experience music upon its debut in 2008. The company's goal is to unleash the potential of human creativity, providing a platform for a million artists to sustain themselves through their craft and offering billions of fans the chance to indulge in and find inspiration from it. Subscriptions allowed creators to earn money from their loyal fanbase by allowing listeners to support shows directly in return for exclusive bonus content and perks.

As Spotify worked to become the #1 audio platform, I worked on creating an experience that allowed creators already using membership platforms like Patreon to make their gated content available on Spotify while keeping their existing business model. Minimal lift but increased reach made this a powerful opportunity for creators across the globe.
